Resort Roadtrip: Grand Targhee

Resort Roadtrip: Grand Targhee

For this week's Resort Roadtrip blog series, we traveled to Grand Targhee in Alta, Wyoming. With more than 500 inches annually of light powder snow and and wide open spaces (2602 acres!), it doesn't get much better than Grand Targhee. Here is what Grand Targhee had to say about their resort:

1. How many runs and chairlifts do you have at the resort?

      2. What is the typical condition at the resort, and what type of lens should we be prepared to use?

Sunny lens and low light – cloudy day/low visibility (we don’t like the word fog) ☺ We are in the clouds.

        Optimal Lenses:

Ice Lense - great for cloudy/foggy days and when it's a little darker

        3. What is the most popular run?

          4. If an experienced rider is feeling daring, what run would you recommend?

            5. If skiing or snowboarding conditions are not ideal, what else is there to do at your resort?

Fat biking, Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, tubing

            6. What makes your resort unique/what is your claim to fame?

Only cat skiing in Wyoming and 500 annual inches of snow. 7. When is the best time of year to ski or snowboard at the resort?

            7. What is the best time of year to ski/snowboard at the resort?

December – April, but February is usually the month.

            8. How would you describe the culture or environment of the resort?

            Laid back western hospitality

            9. Are you more known for park, powder, or groomers?

            10. What would you say the ratio of snowboarders to skiers is?
